Thailand is often called "The Land of Smiles." On a recent visit to the country, I truly did experience smiles and warmth from almost everyone I met there. In addition to all the smiles, you'll also see plenty of temples; in fact, you cannot travel far anywhere in the country without encountering a Theravada Buddhist temple - or some of orange-clad monks who devote themselves to the spiritual practice.
